Sparkle*Jets U.K. at Chain Reaction

Okay, so I was tryin' out my new flash unit at this gig, and I'm still pretty clueless with it. A lot of the pictures came out way over-exposed, like the one called "BadPoser" below. Strangely, Steve Adam's face came out correctly balanced.

After the gig, I went to the Olde Ship with the band & some other friends for beers & chips, and I took a pair of posed pictures with & without flash just for comparison's sake. Unfortunately, they're not a good side-by-side comparison, as I was using the wide angle lens on the non-flash shot, but it covers the flash, so I couldn't use it for the flash shot. Even so, the two pix give you the idea of the tradeoff between sharp focus (with flash) or the more natural ambient colors (without).
