The Piper Downs at the S.S. Lane Victory

The Piper Downs are the consummate party band. Nobody seems to have as much fun on stage as they do (ok well, maybe the Andersons) and their fun is contagious to the audience. Part of their act is that Bobby introduces his own guitar solo (Ladies and gentlemen, Bobby Bognar on lead guitar), which is amusing. I think my favorite song by them is Ten Speed, a sing-along song if I've ever heard one. They also do some great covers. They opened with a cover of the Backstreet Boys, and also did a cover of Centerfold which was pretty ripping.

About the middle of their set, Bobby challenged anyone in the audience to a beer chugging contest. Robbie Rist and Andrew K took him up on it, and Bobby whupped them soundly. They made some jokes about alcoholics, one of which I thought was pretty funny (though some AA folks might not agree). Someone said, I'm gonna take 12 steps...
