The Beat Angels are from Phoenix (or Penis according to the lead vocalist),
and they leaned toward mainstream rock (I'd draw comparisons to Black Crowes).
They put on a very high energy show, particularly their lead vocalist who
danced around, swung the microphone stand wildly, and even did a somersault.
He only really got out of control once, when he nearly fell over the drum
kit. This is the one advantage of having a lead vocalist who doesn't play
an instrument, they can go wild on stage, and the lead vocalist for the Beat
Angels did.
One other thing of note is the lead guitarist, who was the only musician all evening who noticed that I was taking pictures of him and bothered to pose (without breaking the rhythm of the songs of course). He did it twice, on pictures 3 and 22 and both of them came out well. Check `em out. |
