I had to get up early the next day, so I almost left after the Masticators' set, but I had never seen the Dons before, so I decided to stay and see a couple of songs. Their set was a pleasant surprise, and I ended up staying through their whole regular set and then some. Those who left early missed out.
The Dons are a pop-rock trio who do some cool harmonies and catchy tunes. Towards the end of their set, Tammy (of Tammy and the Lords of Misrule) joined them onstage for a song, and then after their regular set, Joe and Jeffrey from the Retros joined them in playing some covers. I saw them do No Matter What and Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, and they were starting into Take it Easy when I finally headed out.
