Okay, so really the title of this page should say Liquid Circus at
Spaceland, since that's what the Bangles billed themselves as. They
hadn't done a Bangles show together in 10 years, so they were a little
nervous about playing the high profile gigs coming up at the House of
Blues, so they decided to do an unannounced (or barely announced) gig
at a local club as a warmup. Us fans were lucky enough to hear about
the gig warmed up to their sweet-as-honey harmonies as if they'd never
missed a beat.
Sure, there might have been a missed chord or two here and a missed lyric or two there, but we barely noticed. We basked in almost two hours of auditory and visual bliss, including several new songs that they said would be coming out on a new CD very soon. I can't wait, as the new stuff was great. Basically, it was one big love fest. You could tell the Bangles were loving playing their music for us, and we were certainly loving having them back performing. It was very crowded, and I was right up against the stage, so I didn't even try to venture around to get different angles, as I doubt I could have squeezed up close enough again if I'd have left my spot. Thus, you'll have to settle for good pictures of Vicki and Susanna, and just OK pictures of Debbi and Michael. Enjoy the pictures - |
