This gig was an afternoon show that was a birthday party for Bob Cantu.
I don't know Bob, but if he has a cool band like 3GT playin' at his
party, I'll be there to wish him many more. The teacher played a set of
hand-picked (by Bob) songs, so no Cinnamon and no Schoolboy,
but they played a lot of other cool songs that they dont play very often,
like Fear of a Boy and "B.O.F." (i.e. the one that goes
"I was havin' a good time, but only for a while...". I don't know what
the acronym stands for) Also, Dave Burk (Sabrina's boyfriend) sat in on
one new song (which I didn't get the title on).
After the gig I went to Virgin Megastore on Sunset looking for the first Sugarplastic album. They didn't have it, but they did have Third Grade Teacher CDs (they even had their own divider!), so go there and buy some. In fact, do it right now. Make it an outing. Support the arts (especially the ones that's the drummers for the bands). |
