There were several interesting things about this show. First of all,
they played a new song (which was actually an old song of theirs,
but I had never heard it before). It's called Conductor
Semiconductor. Also, the band wore dressy clothes instead of the
schoolboy/schoolgirl outfits. This was both a plus and a minus.
The band looked very nice dressed up, and it added some diversity to my
pictures of the band. Dave wore a tux shirt and long black pants (Vaginal
Davis would probably have described his outfit better), and Laura and
Sabrina wore slinky dresses.
Despite how stunning Sabrina looks in a slinky dress, it forces her to be more restrained in her performance. With the low neckline she had to be more conservative on songs like Down where she leans forward a lot. Also, she couldn't really crawl around on the ground much, like she usually does on songs like Monster and Tongues, as it would likely ruin the dress to do so. And of course, Sabrina's wild half-crazed stage behavior is a large part of the fascination of seeing 3GT live. I guess the fancy dress 3GT is cool for special occasions, but I think I prefer to see Sabrina going full out in clothes that she's comfortable in.
